40th AAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence (AAAI-26)


Maria Kasinidou, PhD candidate at the Open University of Cyprus (OUC) and Research Associate at CyCAT, participated in the 40th AAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence (AAAI-26), held in Singapore from January 20 to January 27, 2026, and presented our work at the 16th Symposium on Educational Advances in Artificial Intelligence (EAAI), co-located with AAAI.
During EAAI, Maria presented two papers showcasing our group’s research on AI literacy and public understanding of AI. In “Educating the Public in Artificial Intelligence: Insights from a Large-Scale Course”, she shared findings from the large-scale course “AI in Everyday Life,” delivered as part of the PINNACLe project.
She also presented “‘What Do Children Think About AI?’: Insights and Educational Implications from Primary School Students’ Perceptions of AI”, which reports results from her doctoral research exploring how primary school students in Cyprus perceive AI and what these insights mean for AI education.
