About CyCAT
The Cyprus Center for Trustworthy AI (CyCAT) is hosted at the Open University of Cyprus, the second public university in Cyprus and the only one dedicated to open and distance education.
CyCAT aims at educating non-technical audiences on data science and AI, the team leverages its expertise in designing highly interactive online modules for adult learners, as well as in conducting both small- and large-scale studies on Human-AI interaction.
Our Key Objectives:
- Promote digital and AI literacy through raising citizens’ awareness of the ways AI systems are developed, trained and perform.
- Develop computational methods, personalized tools, and innovative training programs to support the responsible and trustworthy development and deployment of AI.
- Promote a culture of Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) to ensure ethical AI practices.

The Cyprus Center for Trustworthy AI (CyCAT) at the Open University of Cyprus has successfully concluded its PINNACLE project (Public Engagement in AI Evaluation for Education and System Benchmarking), carried out with the generous support of the Cyprus Research and Innovation Foundation (BRIDGE2HORIZON/0823E/0203).
